In 2016, Assisi House, Inc. partnered with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Interdisciplinary Research Leadership Program to help create a Culture of Health, centering our work on housing and other social determinants of wellness. Beginning in November of 2017, Assisi House convened a series of community events called Community Conversations where we discuss the link between health and housing. We use what we learn from these conversations in three ways:
Determine whether ideas expressed in community conversations recommended some actions over others.
Produce ideas that residents might want to see happen in the community to address housing, health and resilience.
Design programs around housing, health, and homelessness based on the needs and desires of the local community, using their assets and visions for health.
All of our community conversations are free and open to the public. For more information or to take part in our community conversations, please complete our contact form or email us.
